Il cinema indipendente ha preso 10!
Sono aperte le iscrizioni per la decima edizione del Roma Independent Film Festival
On line il bando di concorso  – Novità il “Premio Tevere”

Sino al 15 dicembre 2010 sarà possibile presentare opere cinematografiche per partecipare alla decima edizione del RIFF – Roma Independent Film Festival – che si terrà a Roma dall’17 al 25  marzo 2011 presso il Nuovo Cinema Aquila. Anche quest’anno il RIFF offrirà ai filmakers l’occasione per presentare lavori originali in anteprima assoluta: la sezione New Frontiers, dedicata alle opere prime, già da cinque anni raccoglie e presenta, in prima serata, pellicole provenienti da tutto il mondo, dando particolare rilievo alla produzione italiana.
 
Tra i premi in palio, quello patrocinato dalla Regione Lazio, del valoredi 2.500 euro, da destinare allo sviluppo del progetto vincitore nella sezione “miglior cortometraggio” e il Premio Distribuzione, offerto anche quest’anno dal Nuovo Cinema Aquila – sede della manifestazione – che consiste nella possibilità per il film di lungometraggio vincitore di rientrare nella programmazione del cinema.
 
Novità 2011 sarà il premio “Premio Tevere” del valore di 1.000 euro, che il RIFF  insieme al Rotary Club Roma Tevere, celebre associazione mondiale d’imprenditori e professionisti impegnati in attività di solidarietà e promozione di principi etici, offrirà a giovani filmakers per videoclip, spot o cortometraggi (durata max 5 minuti) che abbiano come oggetto temi legati alla tutela dell’“Acqua ORO BLU”, uno dei più preziosi beni comuni mondiali, ricco di simbolismi per la città di Roma.
 
Le opere selezionate per il concorso saranno oltre 150 (nell’edizione 2010 sono state inviate al Festival più di mille tra pellicole e DVD, provenienti da 50 paesi).

Queste le sezioni in concorso:
Feature Films (lungometraggi);
New Frontiers (opera prima);
Documentary Films (documentari a tema libero  e sui diritti umani);
“Acqua ORO BLU”;
Short Films (cortometraggi);
Digital Video (digitale);
International Student Films (per studenti delle scuole di cinema);
Animation (animazione);
Screenplays & Subject (sceneggiature & soggetti);
 
Il programma del RIFF 2011 sarà arricchito da retrospettive e seminari concernenti vari aspetti della cinematografia. Al termine del Festival verranno assegnati i RIFF Awards per un valore di oltre 50.000 Euro.
Con il sostegno dell’Assessorato alle Politiche Culturali e della Comunicazione del Comune di Roma, il contributo del Ministero dei Beni Culturali – DGC e il contributo dell’Assessorato alla Cultura, Spettacolo, Sport e Turismo della Regione Lazio,il Roma Independent Film Festival registra ogni anno crescenti apprezzamenti e si conferma come un importante appuntamento per il cinema indipendente.

RIFF Awards 2011
Independent Cinema scored 10

It is now time to apply  for the 10th Edition of the Roma Independent Film Festival. Online Call for entry

The 15th of december 2010 is deadline for submitting works to participate to the 10th Edition of the RIFF (Roma Independent Film Festival) that will take place in Rome at the Nuovo Cinema Aquila from the 17th to the 25th of March 2011

Also this year Filmmakers will have the possibility to propose their original works as a first-ever preview in the section “New Frontiers”, dedicated to the first work of an artist, for the last 5 years,the RIFF collects and presents in prime time, works coming from all over the world, giving particular attention to Italian production.

Among the prizes, the one sponsored by Regione Lazio, worth 2,500 euro for the development of the winner project in the "Best Short" section, and the Distribution Prize, offered once again this year by Nuovo Cinema Aquila – the event’s venue – which consists in the possibility for the winning movie to be part of the regular cinema programming.

The 2011 news will be the "Tiber prize" worth 1,000 euro that RIFF together with the Rotary Rome Tiber Club ,a famous worldwide association of entrepreneurs and professionals engaged in solidarity and promotion of ethical principles, will give as award to young filmmakers for video clips , commercials or short films (max duration 5 minutes), based on subjects related to Water preservation, the so called "BLUE GOLD" one of the most valuable common global asset , rich in symbolism for the city of Rome.
 
The competing sections are:
Feature Films;
New Frontiers (first time director);
Documentary Films (documentary films on human rights and on free themes);
Short Films;
Digital Video;
International Student Films (for cinema students);
Animation;
Screenplays & Subjects;

The programme of the RIFF 2011 will be enriched by retrospectives and seminars on different aspects of the film industry.  At the end of the Festival, the RIFF Awards will be given and they are worth over 50.000 €.

Supported by the Directorate of Cultural Policies of the City of Rome, with the contribution of the Ministry for Cultural Activities (DGC) and the Directorate of Culture, Performing Art, Sport and Tourism of the District of Lazio, every year the Roma Independent Film Festival is recording more and more appreciations and imposing as an important appointment for the Independent Cinema.
